Echo SRM-225 Parts and Fitment

The air filter also sells under 13031054130 and A226000472, and cross-references to Oregon 30-119 and Stens 102-565 - four numbers, one filter. That is normal for Echo consumables and worth knowing before you decide a listing is the wrong part.

The reason the fitment list above is so long is that Echo built a family around one 21.2 cc engine. The SRM-225 trimmer, the GT-225 curved-shaft trimmer, the PE-225 edger, the PAS-225 power head and the SHC-225 hedge clipper are close relatives, and they share the consumables that bolt to the engine: filter, plug, primer bulb, fuel lines, carburettor.

What they do not share is anything past the shaft. Trimmer heads, edger blades and hedge bars are specific. So the practical rule is: engine-side parts cross the family freely, everything downstream of the clutch does not.

Air filter. Costs a few dollars, takes a minute, and a clogged one is the single most common reason one of these will start and then die at idle. Multi-packs are the sensible buy.

Primer bulb and fuel line kit. These perish rather than wear - the bulb cracks and the lines go hard and split, usually where they enter the tank. A machine that will not prime is far more often this than a carburettor fault. Tune-up kits bundle both with the filter.

Trimmer line. Obvious, but worth buying in a big spool rather than small refills: line stored dry lasts, and running out mid-job is what makes people force worn line through a tired head.

If the machine has stopped running properly, work through why an Echo will not start first. On this engine the order of likelihood is fuel, then filter, then spark, then carburettor - and it is genuinely rare for the fourth to be the answer when the first three have not been checked.

If it runs but cuts badly, the problem is downstream: head or line.
